Amy's Estate & Custom Jewelry
Since 1979
"We want to be your family jeweler."
My Mom and Dad started this business in October of 1979, at that time I was only 8 years old. It began as a weekend business selling primarily antique furniture, accessories and collectable's. Your probably wondering why they named it after me, my Dad tells the story that it was basically a payoff to having me there every weekend. He said I was pretty impressed in the beginning to see my name over the door. As my teenage years approached, I became less impressed with being at the store and wanted to be at home with my friends like most teens.
In addition to the furniture and smalls, they also had an old cigar showcase which displayed 10-12 antique pocket watches and some small antique jewelry items which they sold out of every weekend. It didn't take my parents long to realize that selling watches and jewelry, instead of heavy armoires and dining room suites would be a lot easier on their backs. This was the point they realized estate and custom jewelry was the direction we should head as a business. It's always been a family affair. Dad retired in 2007, I miss him being here on a daily basis, but the good news is he's only a phone call away.
Effective August 29, 2010, we will no longer have a storefront retail operation. We will at that point be a "by appointment" business servicing the clientele we have built for the past 31 years in a full capacity. This is a new chapter in our history and I feel in my heart it is the right decision and will be a great way to better service my customers on a more personal basis.
